The story

The pitcher had been created by the renowned artisan Bonnefond. This unique piece had been commissioned by a wealthy merchant to be used on special occasions. The women depicted on the pitcher appeared so lifelike that they gave the impression of refreshing themselves with water. For years, the pitcher was used at lavish parties, but eventually fell out of favor as tastes shifted towards more modern decorations. Eventually, the pitcher was sold to a passionate collector who kept it jealously in their private collection. Yet, years later, one could still see the finesse of the arabesques, inspired by the artist’s Italian years. –
