Stylish Nil model pewter jug, with a molded decor on the body signed
The story
Henri witnessed the many changes that Paris underwent during the 19th century. From the fall of kings, to the return of emperors and the arrival of republics, he weathered the storms and survived the upheavals. While many artists were condemned to exile and forced to leave the City of Light to cross the barren European desert, for many, only knowledge and ideals saved them. Inspired by the most illustrious figures such as Hugo and Zola, who crossed the vast ocean of inequality to guide the oppressed people, Henri decided to honour them with Moses who, in his time, was also a source of great change. – This unique pewter ewer will reflects baby Moise saved from the waters.
