The story
Those knife holders greatly reflect the French tableware. Knife-holders were created to avoid soiling tablecloths laid on the tables of noble during they fastidious dinners. Placed on a table, they will give elegance and refinement to the setting of every dinner.
Stories do not necessarily correspond to reality. They are only given to illustrate a possible context of origin.
