Magnificent vintage 1940’s cookie box

May 8th, 1940, Lola receives her 12th birthday present from Dady. She does not understand why he must leave. He cannot speak about it, but she heard him tell Mum that Germans would come by passing through Belgium… When she discovers her beautiful biscuit box, she promises him to keep it full and intact. Always mischievous, she will keep it full not of biscuits, but of the precious teas her Dady loves while waiting for his return…
May 8th, 1945, Lola is now 17 years old and has lived 5 difficult years with her mother, but the war seems to be over… But at what price? They have not heard from her dad for 5 years now… And her lovely box has stood the test of time, the cream paint on the wood is still as clear as ever and the glass is still intact, as are the teas she was hoping to give to her dad… Just as she is about to throw them away in despair, a familiar person suddenly arrives at the door…
