The story

Gien is a town in the Centre-Val de Loire region in France, known for its earthenware since the 19th century. This tableware was handmade in a Gien factory by artisans who used traditional techniques to decorate it with delicate floral motifs. It was then cooked at high temperature to ensure its strength and heat resistance. The flower motifs reminded wealthy families of the 19th century of the beauty of the countryside surrounding their second home and brought elegance and colour to their table. It testifies to the timeless beauty of ceramic tableware and the quality of manufacturing that has made the city of Gien famous.
