The story
This highly decorative religious collector’s item will arouse astonishment when you tell its touching story.
A friend of Baron Haussmann, Louis Le Picard was a fervent believer. He had a chapel, decorated with this cross, consecrated in his vast Parisian apartment, where he invited his monarchist friends to pray for the restoration of the Empire and the installation of Napoleon III on the throne. His prayers were very successful … because the dinners that followed were very famous in the capital. Sensitive and romantic, the Emperor was grateful to him for his delicious prayers! –
