The story

“Léa and Laura, the twin sisters of the village as they were called. They were born on February 12, 1910, and from a young age, they loved to dance. At the age of 3, they imitated photos of their grandmother, a former ballerina. At the age of 5, they gave their first performance at school. Everyone was fascinated by their talent, which seemed almost supernatural. It was inherited for some, but still incredible. A bright future was promised to them, ready to join the greatest European ballets, but the Great War caught up with them. Verdun claimed the lives of their father and four elder brothers. They then withdrew into complete silence for the rest of their lives. Their mother then commissioned these two bookends, combining the darkness of mourning with the brilliance of the past.”
