PARIS TO LIVE GRAND PARIS:SAINT-OUEN NEIGHBOURHOOD

On the edge of Paris, neighbourhood of Saint-Ouen is home to new gourmet restaurants and a world-famous flea market. Coline de Silans, Natalia Grgona Celebrating the Mediterranean Israeli chef Eyal Shani has just opened HaSalon, his 41st restaurant, at the Puces de Saint-Ouen flea market. Following in the footsteps of the first HaSalon, opened in Tel Aviv in 2008, you'll find a large open kitchen, a bar overflowing with vegetable platters, and gradually increasing decibels. Chef Jess Soussan interprets Eyal Shani's philosophy, taking us on a gourmet journey from Morocco (her country of origin) to the Mediterranean, with a few side trips to Asia. Exotic flavours and local seasonal products include soft foccacia with artichoke flowers hot from the oven (€23), sardine sashimi (€28), and lamb shank (€60). A beautiful address, where guests sometimes end the night dancing on the tables.
