FONDATION CARTIER

Ron Mueck
One has the impression that every work he creates is a classic, say the experts. It is indeed an understatement to say that Ron Mueck’s sculptures have a strong impact. His human figures, created in a disconcerting hyperrealism, seem larger than life, but the scale differences also disrupt the imagination in surprising ways.
The Fondation Cartier’s third show on the Australian artist (afterthose of 2005 and 2013) is a major event, which includes emblematic pieces and new works by a great perfectionist, who has produced only 48 works in 25 years. Note the monumental installation Mass, consisting of 100 giant human skulls, presented for the first time outside Australia.
Absolutely stunning.

Until Nov. 5.
